I use this tallow for baking and cooking. I've been baking bread for years and by far, tallow is the best way to guarantee loaves that pop out of my bread pans (I use glass bread pans). No knife, no sticking bits-- just a nice slide out and the loaves have an extra wonderful crust to them. Van Man's tallow is also wonderful for pan fried potatoes and other pan frying. Recently, I've used Van Man's tallow in a blend to make a non-dairy spread (I can't eat dairy-- trust me, not by choice!). The tallow adds a flavor depth in the blend and because it is solid at room temp, the blend of non-seed oils with the tallow helps create a solid spread at room temp. Truly great product that I will continue to buy.

I have used the cooking tallow on our sweet potatoes. This tallow has enhanced the flavor of the sweet potatoes. The tallow is becoming out go to for our cooking needs.

I used the cooking tallow to fry eggs. My family is super picky and can tell if I’ve used any (unique tasting) ingredient in my cooking. I thought for sure they would notice a change. They didn’t thankfully! The tallow has a mild scent in the jar but it didn’t show up in the cooked food.
